Family Cat Returns 45 Days After FireJune 16, 2005The family cat of a restaurant owner who lost her husband and family business in a tragic fire returned this week after 45 days missing. Cincinnati,OH,USA Sophia, the DeLuca family cat, arived at the burned out Sorrento's restaurant 45 days after she went missing. The owner, Santina DeLuca, had said she left food for the cat and called her often but to her dismay she never returned. The family had thought the cat parished in the fire. "One morning I open the door and it's the door right over there. I open a little bit and he says, 'Meow, meow.' I thought, 'Oh I don't believe it...No, no, it can't be. I'm scared! Really!" DeLuca said. DeLuca, who lives directly behind the restaurant says the cat must have hid in the basement during the fire. The family is planning on rebuilding in time for the restaurants 50th anniversary next year. Posted by Scott at June 16, 2005 02:22 PM | TrackBack |
