![]() Animal Welfare TrustJuly 13, 2005Animal Welfare Trust's grant program seeks to assist organizations whose work can help alleviate animal suffering and/or raise public consciousness toward giving animals the respect they so need and deserve. Although general organizational funding will be considered, preference will be given to well-defined projects with clear goals and objectives. Capital projects will not be considered.
Animal Welfare Trust anticipates giving out 10-12 grants per year. Accordingly, we believe our grant program must be focused in order maximize the impact of the grants we give. In general, we are interested in funding programs that have the ability to change public awareness and attitudes as well as promote action towards conditions that compromise the well being of animals. Accordingly, our grant program is about "informing, inspiring, and educating" which is our adopted motto. Given this focus, it is unfortunate that important sectors of the animal welfare arena must be outside of our funding scope. Local animal rescue/shelter and spay/neuter programs, as critical as they are to the animal welfare cause, is an area that we believe we just don't have the resources to address. Likewise, wildlife management and conservation projects are not within our funding parameters. http://fdncenter.org/grantmaker/awt/ Posted by Scott at July 13, 2005 11:11 AM |
